I’ve complained about “fake news” a lot in recent in recent months. If anything, it’s even worse now than before. With the advent of AI’s creating photo’s and headlines that are nothing more than a teaser to get us to read all the BS normally that usually follows has become problematic. I’m all for free speech but the lack of control on the fake content and misleading headlines is ridiculous. Everyone is paranoid to the extreme for scammers and this fake BS just contributes to even more scams. Today I’ll let you determine what is fake and what isn’t. Firstly I’ll list five of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories I could find. If you’re convinced by any of these subjects, you’re in need of more help than I can offer.

I realize these five items are truly stupid but they actually have been seriously discussed by the lunatic fringe. My all time favorite must go to those idiots who still believe the earth is flat. It pleases me that the mental health institutions will continue to have plenty of customers. I guess you could call that some sort of “job security”. Now I’m going to list ten items of which five are actual headlines and five that are not. You be the judge. The answers will be listed below.

I’ve been a science-fiction fan for more years than I care to remember. It started when I was a child of about four and my mother painted the walls of my bedroom with planets and rocket ships. It was the days of Sputnick and the “space race”. That was the beginning of my interest in space travel just like every other kid in the country at that time. You need to understand what I mean by an interest in space travel. I’d love nothing better than see an alien craft land at the White House (and take Joe Biden for a much-deserved joy ride), but I’ve lived long enough and gotten smart enough to become something of a UFO non-believer. Since the first human beings that saw fireflies and thought they were demons or angels, everything is either an alien, UFO, a spiritual mystery, or an omen of the end of the world as we know it.

People can be stupid and ignorant about many things and the internet media supplies video after video of BS stories that to any reasonably normal person are obvious fakes. I’d rather deal in facts.
Fact #1 – The Government supplies former military officers, former NASA employees, and a host of so-called scientific experts to the media and internet. It is their job to help use the subject of UFOs to distract the nation and the world from what they may be doing covertly. When you control all media, you control everything and the saying “Knowledge is Power” has never been closer to the truth. Mind games are the heart and soul of a government slowing eroding the rights of its citizens (President Eisenhower warned us about that) and that’s our new reality.
Fact #2 – ET’s if they even exist puzzle me. How can advanced beings keep crashing their ships all over the planet. I swear every effing country claims an alien craft crash site and a few even claim to have recovered alien vehicles. It doesn’t seem likely to me that such intelligent beings who are so more advanced than we are can’t seem to safely fly a UFO in our atmosphere. I’ll believe it when they land in my back yard and tell me something or anything that I haven’t already heard on the internet.

I’m also tired of hearing about the Egyptians and those stupid pyramids, tall skeletons, huge magical blocks of stone, treasures dug up in every back yard in American, and how every discovery about everything is all about every organized religion claiming it’s a sign from their god. How many people and governments have made billions of dollars by misleading billions of idiots. Unfortunately, a large percentage of the citizens worldwide will believe anything they’re told, no questions asked. Everything is always some sort of conspiracy, and we can rely on social media to spread it around the world, constantly repeating both the lies and the occasional truths ad infinitum.
I sometimes think that the human race is just plain nuts. Not every individual person but a huge majority of us. It seems we can’t have three people talking together for more than a few minutes before information is exchanged concerning other people’s odd beliefs or some of the more universal conspiracy theories.
I like a good conspiracy as well as the next person but in my heart of hearts I still think that almost all of them are stupid and ridiculous. My theory is that the more leisure time people have the more of these stupid theories seem to appear. It’s not just the good old standbys like the Kennedy assassination, the fake moon landing, or 9/11. We seem to have a perverse need for a never ending supply of this nonsense so we have something to talk and bitch about. Big Labor, Big Wall Street, Big Business, and Big Drug Companies seem to prompt conspiracy theories directly in proportion to the frequency which politicians preach to us about the inequities between rich and poor in this country. Blame it on somebody who is not them.
It astounds me that so many educated people will immediately buy into some of the strangest premises without attempting to verify anything. Many of the silliest conspiracies are constantly being promoted my members of academia at all education levels. Many of them seem to think that every thought that comes into their head is the gospel truth and can’t be disputed. They then subtly pass their silly beliefs to the children they’re responsible for educating giving the ideas a bizarre sort of immortality. It keeps them alive as each new class of students is indoctrinated anew.
Let me list a few more for you; technology conspiracies with implanted chips and mind control, the hidden agenda behind the HIV virus, global surveillance, the New World Order, and the many and varied religious conspiracies which are too numerous to mention. Roswell and the UFO cover-up are right up there too with any and all assassinations i..e. JFK, MLK, John Lennon, and a host of others. Almost anything the Government touches immediately becomes a hidden agenda or conspiracy. This is probably a good thing because it keeps us on the alert for government abuses both real and imagined.
Be aware of what you are doing as well. How often do your conversations with others deal with conspiracies or imagined abuses by almost every organization you can think of. I began keeping track of my own conversations and I was amazed how quickly and how often I fell into the conspiracy trap. In my humble opinion we are nuts. Human beings have great imaginations but if not properly focused they lead us into strange, weird, and dark places. Will it ever stop? Not a chance or a prayer.
