How good is your memory?  Are you one of those folks who has disciplined themselves to remember only the good things that happen and forget all of the bad? If you are then we’ll probably never be able to communicate with each other in a meaningful way. We just don’t speak the same language. I’m none of those things.  I’m your basic human being who takes great offense to anyone who treats me badly, lies to me, or attempts to mislead me. When it’s our politicians I respond in kind at the ballot box.  That old adage of "turn the other cheek" is just pure and utter nonsense.

If I sound bitter or disgusted that’s because I am.  Wishy-washy people will be the downfall of us all as reflected in the way our current government approaches and deals with problems.  It’s hard to respect anyone who is preyed upon time and time again but remains passive and weak.  That’s something for all of us to remember in the coming months as these problems slowly evolve to the point where they can no longer be ignored.   Remember you read it here first.

Maybe I should just run for public office. I could force myself to become as washy-washy as our current crop of representatives.  Maybe I could fight for the legalization of all drugs and put on a real push to bring back prostitution in a big way.  I’d reintroduce the old trading stamps programs where if you pay for a little recreational sex you get some free dish-ware on you way out the door.  Maybe I could push through with the help of my fellow politicians a law to require a ten percent discount on gas if your a steady participant in any government subsidy program.  How about a free happy meal for any illegal alien who remains in the country but has a job and commits no crimes for more than thirty minutes.

I might think that free diapers, prenatal, and post natal treatments for those unwed mothers we hear so much about should be mandatory.  I don’t want to be unfair so anyone who loses their job and refuses to find another gets free healthcare, government subsides for housing, food, and milk. Oh right, never mind,  I forgot that’s already happening.

This is the land of milk and honey as I’ve heard from thousands of people I’ve interviewed during my career with state government. For all of you young adults who’ve mortgaged your lives with student loans, I hope your prepared to pay the bill for all those less fortunate than yourselves.  When your struggling to educate your own children to the tune of thousands of student loan dollars and those children of these poor, badly treated, illegal immigrants are getting a free ride, say nothing.  Turn the other cheek and watch your hard earned tax money be redistributed to help finance the poor, illegal, and misunderstood leaches on our society.

You’ll just feel so much better about yourself, right?

I’ve spent the last week listening to and hearing about all the wonderful things the politicians and government are proposing to resolve and fix all of our countries problems. I’ve been a constant critic of this country’s politicians for some time now and if you know me at all that should be an red flag.  I’ve always been a patriotic citizen well schooled by my father and grandfather and proud of their service to this country as well my own.  To have me bitching and complaining about the Unites States is something I always knew was expected but never thought would be necessary. With the asinine proposals I’ve been listening to about the handling of illegal immigration and border control, I think I need to speak up once again.

We now exist as a “nanny nation” in an atmosphere of give-away’s.  Pay farmers not to grow crops, entitlements out of control with no one even attempting to slow them down, and full benefits for every illegal immigrant who can find his/her way illegally from any where.  Close to thirty percent of the population is collecting food stamps and almost an equal number are on  some sort of disability.  In my humble opinion any person who believes that drug addiction and alcoholism are disabilities that require government subsidies, needs to buy a ticket on the next boat to any other country they’d like to live in.  I‘d vote a big “Yes” for temporary government subsidies to help all of those folks pay for their relocation. Maybe Europe would be the place for them to settle.  They went down this road themselves over the past forty years and are now suffering the obvious consequences.

Taxing the money-makers and giving that money to alleged needy people and illegal immigrants is insane.  I hate to tell you but when the number of people collecting entitlements out numbers the money-makers, the end is near. Socialism can destroy any nation if permitted to flourish and if you don’t believe that ask anyone from the former Soviet Union. You can also check in with any number of the European countries currently on the verge of default. I’ll bet anything if they could go  back and make a change they would.

I guess my question is this.  Is drifting into socialism a logical progression when certain groups attempt to demonize hard work as a problem to be dealt with rather than a goal to be reached?  I don’t have all of the answers but as any damn fool can see, the leaders of this country don’t either.

Is it too late to stop this madness?  Unfortunately I think it probably is.  This insidious propaganda has been fed to use for decades and it appears a majority of citizens are just going along to get along.  The old statement about “inmates running the asylum” has more meaning now than ever before.

I’ve really been trying to keep the political ranting to a minimum since starting this new blog but January seems like a good month to relax and begin asking more uncomfortable questions that the Government would prefer not to answer.  I spent a year and a half attempting to spread the word to anyone who would listen about how dangerous the government has become and about Obama and the liberals in particular.  After seeing the results of the last election I realized I was trying to inform people of things they would rather ignore or deny.

I  think our country is spiraling downward and will come to an ignominious end at some point in the future.  The comparisons to the Roman Empire are many and scary as hell.  I won’t get into the dirty little details because this blog posting will then be a little  too long for most people who these days require only “sound bites”.  I’ll no longer waste my time in trying enlightening anyone but I will continue to ask the questions I think need to be answered.

Being as old as I am, I figure I won’t alive long enough to see the anarchy boiling beneath the surface in this country explode . I know it’s there and God help the people who refuse to see it or choose to ignore it.  I’m going to ask you a few questions now and I don’t really expect any answers.  Just read them and think about them if your one of the few people left who still attempts to do that.

Why do you think smoking Pot is legal and widely accepted but smoking tobacco is treated like a criminal offense?

Why is it that you can get arrested for expired tags on your car but not for being in the country illegally?

Why can a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for calling his teacher "cute" but hosting sexual exploration classes in grade schools is perfectly acceptable?

Why are children forcibly removed from parents who appropriately discipline them while children of "underprivileged" drug addicts are left to rot in filthy infested cesspools?

Why are hard working and successful citizens rewarded with higher taxes and Government intrusion, while improper and lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards (Food Stamps), WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing, and free cell phones?

Those were five questions no Liberals, Democrats, or Obama’s want to answer. Even sadder there are no Conservatives, no Republicans, and no Independents that will answer them either.  Here’s five more conundrums for you think and worry about.

Why is the government’s plan for getting people back to work to provide 99 weeks of unemployment checks (to not work)?

Why is being self-sufficient considered a threat to the government?

Why do our politicians think that stripping away the amendments to the Constitution is really protecting the rights of the people?

Why is murder of any sort prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law but hundreds of thousands of government sponsored abortions are overlooked?

Why is using the "N" word (by any non-black citizen) considered "hate speech" but writing and singing songs about raping women and killing cops is considered an "art form"?

Now I’ve given you ten scenarios that are cause for any thinking individual to question this government and the politician hypocrites who are running it. Are you asking these questions of your local politicians?  I’d better hurry and finish my list before I become violently ill and have to stop.

Why do the rights of the Government come before the rights of the Individual?

Why is it possible for an 80 year old woman to be stripped searched by the TSA but a Muslim woman in a burka is only subject to having her neck and head searched?

Why is being stripped of your ability to defend yourself making you "safer"?

Why is a parent’s signature required to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion?

Why are working class American’s  required to pay for their own health care (and the Health care of everyone else) while unmarried women are free to have child after child on the "State’s" dime while never being held accountable for their own bad choices?

I’ve ranted as much as I can on these subjects for years and to no avail. When the “inmates are running the asylum’” how much “Hope for Change” can we expect?

Thanks Mike.
